Lemlem Kebede, Grant Manager

Lemlem is a certified Project Management Professional and international development practitioner with extensive experience in program leadership, capacity building, youth empowerment and gender equality across the Global South. As Grant Manager for Youth Ready, Lemlem leads the implementation of a multi-million dollar youth empowerment program across 10 countries in Latin America and East Africa. She oversees cross-functional technical teams and champions locally-led approaches that equip vulnerable youth with pathways to education, employment and entrepreneurship. Lemlem holds a Master of Public Health (International) from the University of Leeds and a Master of Arts in Rural Development from Indira Gandhi National Open University.

Alirio Zelaya, Program Officer

Alirio is a natural leader who is passionate about helping people reach their full potential and achieve success in both their personal and professional lives. Over the past five years, he has provided strategic and operational support to youth programming leaders in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Kenya, Peru, Rwanda, and Tanzania, where youth programming initiatives are being implemented. Throughout the program lifecycle, Alirio has played a key role in driving innovation within youth programming processes and strengthening program effectiveness. He has also contributed significantly to the design of project reporting and accountability tools, fostering a culture of trust, confidentiality, transparency, and credibility across participating teams and stakeholders.

Niña Maey Oplado, Data Management Assistant

Niña is a Data Management Assistant at World Vision Canada, supporting the Vision for Vulnerable Youth Initiative/Youth Ready program. She contributes to program effectiveness through data management, reporting, coordination and accountability systems that support informed decision-making and continuous improvement. A servant leader, she is committed to helping teams maximize their potential by strengthening data processes and fostering collaboration. Niña is a registered Social Work Technician with a diploma in Social Service Work and a degree in Management Accounting. She brings strong analytical, organizational and communication skills, along with a passion for supporting youth-focused initiatives and creating positive impact in communities.

Vongaishe Changamire, Technical Specialist, Education

Vongaishe is an education, gender and child protection specialist with over 14 years of experience supporting inclusive and equitable education programs globally. Her expertise spans social justice, international development, education financing, education in emergencies, adolescent and youth programming, and education systems strengthening. She has managed and advised multi-donor initiatives focused on expanding access to quality education for girls and young women in marginalized and conflict-affected communities across Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa. In addition, she has significant experience in curriculum review and development, project design, resource mobilization and guiding government ministries on education policy and programming. She holds a Doctorate in Social Justice Education from the University of Toronto and a Master's in International Education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Oluseyi Adebulugbe, Technical Specialist, Gender

Oluseyi is a Gender Technical Specialist at World Vision Canada, supporting programs that advance Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion across multiple sectors. She works with teams to design and strengthen gender-responsive initiatives that promote the leadership, participation and agency of young people, particularly girls, young women and marginalized youth. Her expertise spans health, livelihoods and gender-based violence prevention and response, with a strong focus on creating equitable opportunities and inclusive outcomes. Oluseyi is passionate about embedding inclusive approaches across programming and supporting youth-led innovation that drives sustainable change. Through her work, she helps strengthen the capacity of organizations and communities to address barriers to participation and advance social inclusion. She holds a Master of Public Health, a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences, and a diploma in Addiction and Community Service Work.

Adeyinka Onabolu, Technical Specialist, Protection, Gender, and Inclusion

Adeyinka is a Protection, Gender, and Inclusion Technical Specialist with World Vision Canada. In her role, she supports resource acquisition, program design, quality improvement and research related to child protection, gender equality and disability inclusion. With over 14 years of experience in both humanitarian and development settings, Adeyinka has worked extensively in child protection, gender equality, gender-based violence prevention and response and social inclusion programming. She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.).

Alicia Lopez Alvarez, Technical Specialist, Environment & Climate Change

Alicia is the Environmental Management and Climate Change Technical Specialist at World Vision Canada, providing strategic leadership on environmental sustainability and climate change integration across project programming. She supports the design and implementation of Global Affairs Canada-funded initiatives focused on climate adaptation, mitigation and carbon programming. Prior to joining World Vision Canada, Alicia spent 11 years with GIZ as a REDD+ Regional Technical Advisor, leading climate and forestry initiatives across Central America. She has collaborated with governments, UN agencies, the World Bank and the Green Climate Fund to advance sustainable land-use, carbon finance and climate resilience efforts. Alicia also served as a Climate Change and Environmental Safeguards Specialist with FAO, supporting environmental risk management and compliance for climate-related projects. She holds graduate qualifications in Project Management and Carbon Finance, as well as a bachelor's degree in Economics.

Jean Marie Ndagijimana, Grant Finance Manager

Jean Marie is a Grant Finance Manager with over 15 years of experience in international development and humanitarian action, supporting programs across Africa, the Americas and Canada. His expertise spans grant management, financial oversight, risk management and compliance within complex development and emergency response environments. Prior to joining World Vision Canada, he worked with organizations including the Red Cross Movement, ICAP Global Health at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Throughout his career, he has supported programs in maternal and child health, child protection, education, youth empowerment, gender-based violence prevention, nutrition, HIV and TB care and disaster preparedness and response. Jean Marie brings extensive experience managing resources that contribute to effective and accountable program delivery. He holds master's degrees in Accountancy and Public Health and a postgraduate diploma in Humanitarian Action.

Susantha Katukurunda, Technical Specialist, Economic Development

Susantha is an Economic and Market Development Technical Specialist at World Vision Canada with over 20 years of experience in economic development and livelihood programming. He leads and supports economic empowerment, youth employment, financial inclusion and market systems initiatives, including STEP, Youth Ready, AHADI, Resilient WE and BLOOM. His expertise encompasses technical and vocational education and training (TVET), enterprise development, business development services, SME growth and economic recovery. Prior to joining World Vision Canada, he held technical advisory and project management roles with Plan International Canada, Save the Children Canada and the International Labour Organization (ILO). Throughout his career, he has supported programs that equip individuals and communities with the skills, opportunities and resources needed to improve economic resilience and livelihoods. Susantha holds a Bachelor of Commerce, an MBA, a Postgraduate Diploma in Development Economics and is a Certified Impact Investment Analyst.

Melissa Leal, Regional Advisor

Melissa is an International Relations professional with over 12 years of experience in the public and nonprofit sectors. Specialist in volunteering and holder of a Master’s degree in Social Conflict Resolution, with strong expertise in social project design, implementation, evaluation, fundraising, and donor relations. Currently working as Partnership Advisor for the Youth Ready program across 10 countries, leading strategic alliances to advance youth education, employment and skills development.

Farley is an educator and social development leader with over 30 years of experience advancing education, youth leadership, and human development initiatives in Colombia and Latin America. Holds a degree in Pedagogy, specializing in Social Management, and has a master's degree in Education and Human Development. Have led the design and implementation of programs that expand opportunities for young people, women, and communities, promoting educational quality, participation, and the development of life projects. Experience in supporting team development and coaching processes to strengthen collaborative leadership and drive social impact.
