Autonomy without barriers: The power to choose our own path
Every person deserves the chance to make choices about their own life, including where they learn, how they work and who they become. For many young people with disabilities, barriers still stand in the way. This International Day of Persons with Disabilities, join us for a conversation about what it takes to remove those barriers and let young people lead their own path.
Youth Ready is a World Vision Canada project that helps young people build skills and find opportunities to thrive. In this webinar, we’ll look at how the project works alongside young people with disabilities to support their inclusion and independence in their communities.
What to expect
- Expert insight: The President of CONADIS (Peru) will share a regional and global look at the challenges young people with disabilities face and the opportunities to move toward full inclusion.
- Real stories: Young participants from Tanzania and Bolivia will tell us, in their own words, how being included has strengthened their independence and changed their lives.
- Our approach: World Vision Canada’s technical team will share what has helped young people with disabilities take part and make their own decisions.
- Community voices: A World Vision partner from Bolivia will explain how working together breaks down barriers in local communities.
- A hands-on moment: Young people from Peru will teach us a song in sign language, showing why accessible communication matters for everyone.
- Key takeaways and a call to action: We’ll wrap up with the lessons learned and an invitation to get involved, led by two young leaders.
