Where there’s a Will, there’s a way

No matter where we live, we all want a brighter future for the people we love.

A way to start again

For Yesleidy and Miguel, moving forward meant starting again.

Two years ago, they fled the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela with their children and began rebuilding their lives in Colombia. Miguel started selling empanadas from a small food cart outside a local school, doing what he could to provide for his family and create a more stable future.

Little by little, the family kept building.

Through World Vision, Yesleidy and Miguel received training and support to strengthen their family business. Their business plan was eventually approved for seed capital, helping them take another step toward the stability they were working so hard to create.

Today, Miguel sells empanadas, popcorn, cotton candy and cupcakes from a food stall near the school. But he’s already looking ahead. He dreams of opening a bakery, growing the business and creating even greater opportunities for his family.

A way to protect what matters most

Yesleidy and Miguel’s story is uniquely theirs, but the desire to care for loved ones and provide security for the people we care about is something we all understand.

As life changes, our priorities can change too. Families grow, new chapters begin and our experiences shape what we care about most.

A Will is one way to put those intentions into writing. It can help care for the people you love, protect what you’ve built and reflect the values that have shaped your life.

And those values can reach even further.

A way to help shape the future

What does a brighter future look like to you?

Perhaps it’s a world where children have clean water to drink and enough food to grow strong. Where they are safe, learning and free to imagine what they might become.

For more than 75 years, people have partnered with World Vision to help make futures like these possible for children and families around the world.

A gift in your Will is another way to be part of that story.

After first caring for the people you love, you can choose to include a gift to World Vision Canada. It’s a way for the compassion and values you live by today to continue helping children and families build brighter futures for years to come. Where there’s a Will, there’s a way—to care for the people you love, protect what matters most and help shape a brighter future for generations to come.
