Rebuilding lives in drought-hit Somalia

In places like Somalia, livestock such as goats are a way of life. They provide income, food and resources for families and communities.

Dr. Abdisalan Mohamed from the Ministry of Livestock explains the impact of a severe drought across Somalia and how it has decimated many herding communities.

World Vision has been helping the community of El-madobe recover from the drought, starting with cash transfers for families, building a school and maternal health centre, and constructing new homes. The distribution of goats to 33 families is another step in the recovery plan, helping them build resilience for the future.
