In this episode, Josh sits down with Dr. Teriano, a former World Vision sponsored child who rose from a remote Maasai village in Kenya to earn a PhD from the University of Toronto.
In a community where girls were rarely expected to attend school, her path seemed destined for early marriage. But with her mother’s courage, her grandmother’s resilience and the support of a World Vision sponsor, Teriano was given what she calls a miracle: the chance to pursue education.
She shares how sponsorship covered school fees, uniforms, healthcare, and most importantly, it gave her hope. It opened her eyes to a world beyond her village and sparked a lifelong drive to uplift others. Today, despite global opportunities, Dr. Teriano returns home to empower women, champion education and inspire the next generation.
Her message to girls everywhere: " Impossible is just a word. With determination, belief and hard work, anything is possible—and when you rise, lift others with you."
