Many supporters, just like you, have already stretched their charitable giving as far as their budgets allow. But we have good news! Making a difference doesn’t always mean giving more money. There are powerful, practical ways to help transform lives around the world without increasing your donation.

1. Volunteer your time

From events across Canada to hands-on office support, volunteers make a big difference for World Vision’s work to get the word out. Whether helping at a booth during a concert, lending a hand at a community event, or supporting fulfillment efforts behind the scenes, volunteers bring energy and impact that amplify our mission.

In 2025 alone, 756 volunteers supported 46 events in Canada, contributing approximately 3,780 hours toward fundraising efforts. Their presence at major events like the Stars on Ice Tour, the Newsboys Worldwide Revival Nights Tour not only helped raise critical funds but also inspired more Canadians to join the movement.

In addition, 44 volunteers contributed 422 hours of in-office support in 2025, packaging over 10,214 items, including gift catalogues, Christmas cards, sports kits, Bounce Back cards, and colouring sets. Their contributions streamlined operations and helped World Vision reach even more girls and boys globally.

When you volunteer, you’re not just giving your time, you’re multiplying impact globally.

2. Take the plunge or create your own campaign

If you’re ready for a challenge, the annual Courage Polar Bear Dip offers a thrilling way to make a difference. Every year on January 1 at Toronto’s Coronation Park, participants gather to dive into the icy waters of Lake Ontario, raising funds to fight global hunger. Over the years, this bold tradition has raised thousands of dollars while uniting a passionate community determined to bring change.

Not in the GTA? No problem. The Polar Plunge can happen anywhere cold water is found. Start your own team, rally your community, and make a splash.

If waiting until January feels too far away, you can create your own unique campaign. Supporters across Canada have already turned hikes, races, craft sales, concerts, and other creative challenges into opportunities to raise both funds and awareness. Each campaign, no matter how small, adds to a wave of change that reaches vulnerable children worldwide.

3. Spread the Word

At times, the most impactful action is also the simplest. Sharing World Vision’s mission with your community, online or offline, can inspire someone new to get involved.

A single social media post takes less than a minute, yet it has the potential to reach dozens, even hundreds, of people. World Vision regularly shares stories, statistics, and opportunities to engage.
