I didn't know that breastfeeding has so many benefits for me and my child," says Heidi, 21, single mom to one-year-old Patrick.

Because her husband left them, Heidi has to rely on her parents for their daily needs.

She was coached to breastfeed her son by Dr. Calleja, who works at a nearby clinic.

“We orient mothers about breastfeeding and correct misconceptions about child-bearing,” Dr. Calleja says. “I know the big benefits it gives to children."

Provide communities like Sorsogon with vital healthcare supplies. Help stock a medical clinic.

To support Dr. Calleja’s work, World Vision provided breastfeeding kits for her patients. The kits included a shawl, water bottle, food container and feeding cup.

“Breastfeeding helps us save money,” says Heidi, adding, “Thank you for the kit. I bring it whenever I go out.”
