World Vision continues to monitor the effects of Hurricane Matthew across Haiti and in communities where Canadians sponsor children.

In Cobocol, the homes of 22 sponsored children have been damaged. Thankfully, none of the children were hurt.

"Our staff in the field are following up closely with all the sponsored children's families to ensure that they have a safe place to stay,"says one World Vision Haiti staff member. These families will assistance from World Vision"essential items like like bedding, tarps or hygiene supplies.

Since Hurricane Matthew hit on October 4th, World Vision has reached approximately 33,575 people in the country with distributions of critical supplies. Child-Friendly Spaces are being organized to give kids a safe space to learn, play and process what they've experienced.
