Nuevo Amanecer

The community of Nuevo Amanecer has graduated

In 2019, the community has transitioned from sponsorship to self-sufficiency and World Vision is no longer on site. Local people and organizations have been equipped to take over and lead the community's development - and that is something to celebrate!

With the help of your generous and loving support, life in Nueva Amanecer has transformed. Children and families are much stronger now. The community has met its goals, and its members are working together to tackles new ones. Your support will have a lasting impact for years to come.

Nuevo Amanecer is located in the Sonsonate province in El Salvador. The area is 95 per cent rural, with only one town, and is bordered to the south by the Pacific Ocean. The climate is tropical, with a rainy and dry season each year. During the rainy season, roads wash out and some areas of the community become inaccesible. The region is vulnerable to natural disasters like floods, hurricanes, droughts, earthquakes, and landslides. Rural families typically lived in homes made from clay and wood.

Thanks to the generosity of Canadian sponsors like you, life in Nuevo Amanecer has improved. Children and families have grown stronger and are working together to overcome their challenges. Your support has opened doors that will have a lasting impact for years to come.
