Sudanese refugees finding a new home in Uganda

Thousands of vulnerable people – including children – are fleeing the ongoing conflict in South Sudan and seeking refuge in neighbouring countries, such as Uganda. The fighting between government and opposition forces began in mid-December and has spread across the country.

World Vision does not have a sponsorship program in Sudan. However, we work in numerous communities in Uganda. And as of early January, more than 23,500 Sudanese refugees had come to this country, escaping a life of fear and violence back home.

Sponsorship activities and communications are running normally in Uganda. Please visit and bookmark this page for updates on how the crisis in Sudan is affecting the country.
