Micro-loans transform lives
There’s a powerful force at work around the world that’s transforming untold numbers of children’s lives--World Vision’s micro-loan programs. Our micro-loans worldwide have one purpose: to enable poor but entrepreneurially minded people to start or strengthen already existing small businesses, from sewing shops to livestock farms. They can then use their extra earnings to feed and provide for their families. Micro-loans in Africa average about $250 each. These loans provide capital for small-business development that includes training in business practices and support from local staff. Micro-loans help provide families the resources to fight child hunger, disease and family poverty that we aim to significantly increase the number of micro-loan recipients in Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and East African countries. Our goal is to raise $405,000 over the next four months.
