East Africa Famine Relief

An emergency of the highest level has been declared by World Vision, as 22 million people face severe food shortage in Somalia, South Sudan, Kenya and Ethiopia.

This complex hunger crisis is driven by drought and conflict and has left more than 3.5 million children facing severe malnutrition.

Famine has already been declared in parts of South Sudan.

Our need to respond is without question. Every single day, this crisis is claiming more lives. But your donation today will help World Vision respond with life-saving assistance such as: emergency food, health care, clean water and more.

“Here in Somalia, crops keep failing and entire herds of livestock are dying. Half the population of Somalia is in need of immediate humanitarian assistance. Thanks to Canadian aid, World Vision has already been helping. But as this crisis deepens, more support is urgently needed,” says Jamie MacIntosh, World Vision Canada’s Vice-President of Programs.
