A multimedia, multi-literacy resource for grades 7 to 10, Alive at Five: the Silent Global Crisis of Child Deaths explores why 8.8 million children die each year before reaching their fifth birthday. The resource includes five stand-alone learning modules addressing media, technology, visual, oral, written and numeracy skills.

1GOAL and Global Action Week: April 19-25
Each April, the Global Campaign for Education (GCE) holds Global Action Week (GAW) to draw attention to the millions of children, youth and adults who cannot fulfill their human right to receive a quality education.
The Canadian Global Campaign for Education, in partnership with the GCE and the FIFA World Cup, is participating in this year's 1GOAL campaign from April 19-25. Curriculum materials developed by the Canadian Teacher's Federation are available to teachers who pre-register for GAW 2010.
Youth Empowered 2010
Youth Empowered is a one-day student leadership conference coming to cities across Canada in February. The event equips students to develop leadership skills, learn about key global issues and discover how to be change agents for a better world. This year World Vision Youth Ambassadors from Tanzania and Rwanda will also participate.
