Help rush emergency supplies to children and families in Myanmar. |
Dear World Vision Supporter,
As our rescue effort continues in Myanmar, it has become apparent that there is suffering and destruction on a massive scale. The situation is much worse than originally anticipated.
More than one million people are homeless and food sources have been destroyed. Hundreds of thousands of children and families are in desperate need. This is the worst disaster since the Tsunami of 2004.
The next few days and weeks are critical—as the potential for hunger, disease and death increases. Children are the most vulnerable. We are committed to doing everything we can to help save their lives and provide them with tangible hope and healing.
We need your help. If you've already given to support our relief effort in Myanmar, thank you! Your donation is already at work saving lives. If you haven't yet given, please give now. Conditions are growing worse by the hour. The death toll is rising and will continue to go up as survivors suffer from lack of essential supplies.
Your donation of $100, $200, $500 or more will provide desperately needed food, clean water, blankets and much more for suffering children and families. Please respond now!
World Vision's local staff—already in place and positioned to respond quickly to the cyclone—are working around the clock, providing emergency food, water, shelter, blankets and more. We have already distributed 35 metric tonnes of rice, 18,000 litres of drinking water, plus thousands of blankets, tarpaulins for shelter and warm clothing.
World Vision has been working in Myanmar for more than 40 years, and we will be there for the long haul, helping children and their families rebuild shattered lives and communities.
Thank you again for your generous response and your prayers.
