Youth Empowered reaches students across Canada!

Thank you to the students and teachers who participated in Youth Empowered 2010. This year we held three events across the country: Youth Empowered Ontario (Mississauga), Youth Empowered Prairies (Winnipeg, Manitoba) and Youth Empowered West (Edmonton, Alberta).

Youth Empowered is a high-energy, one day event that equips youth to take action on global issues. Students will develop leadership skills, learn about key global issues and discover how they can be change agents for a better world. Two World Vision Youth Ambassadors from East Africa will also be participating, bringing their unique perspectives to the day. Part of the day includes a “teachers’ track” workshop on global education in the classroom.

This year, Youth Empowered focused on the single largest child rights violation of our time. Every year, 8.8 million children die of largely preventable causes.
