Cross-Canada Leadership Retreats

This fall World Vision is once again holding leadership retreats for highly committed youth leaders. Each retreat involves 20 to 25 young leaders from the six regions where the retreats are held. Retreats are led by experienced World Vision staff.

Highlights of each retreat include:

Outdoor learning activities
Workshop sessions on the challenge of Child Health (link to article “2010 – A Year for Action!”)
An African-style dinner and storytelling
New friendships with other young leaders from each region
Action planning, facilitated by World Vision staff
A chance to join World Vision’s Leadership Challenge (link to new article “Do the World Vision Leadership Challenge”)

Below is a list of the retreats, including the dates and venues (where available):

British Columbia: Oct 23-25, Venue TBD
Alberta: Nov 6-8, Camp Kuriakos, Sylvan Lake
Manitoba: Oct 23-35, Fort Whyte, Winnipeg
Southwestern Ontario: Sept 25-27, Ontario Educational Leadership Centre, Orillia
Eastern Ontario & Quebec: Date & Venue TBD
Atlantic Canada: Oct 16-18, Tatamagouche Centre

What is the cost?
Thanks to funding from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the cost is only $40 per participant —a real deal for a full weekend at a retreat centre that includes all meals Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday.

How can I join?
Space is limited. Speak to a local World Vision representative or send us an email and explain why you’d like to participate in a weekend. Be sure to include any leadership experience you may have.
