Global Campaign for Education
Education for all. It seems so simple. But for more than 100 million children around the world who do not attend school, education is not a reality.

Global Action Week (April 24-30) is a chance for teachers and students to speak out about the importance of education for all and take part in the Global Campaign for Education.

On December 1, 2004, World Vision and six other organizations came together in coalition to launch the Canadian Global Campaign for Education. Since then, World Vision has been part of a steering committee whose aim is to promote the universal right to education through the support of global actions by the Global Campaign for Education.

Campaign Goals
The Global Campaign for Education seeks to mobilize public pressure and political will so governments and international institutions fulfill their commitments to provide free, quality public education to all children by 2015.

How to Get Involved
This year's global action is Every Child Needs a Teacher. Teachers and students can help create the world's largest poster that shows Canadians' desire for education for all.

The poster will be presented to the prime minister and the minister for international cooperation before the G8 meeting in June.

If you and your class would like to participate in Global Action Week and help create the poster, visit the Canadian Global Campaign for Education website for more informaton.
