Childview and Enfants du monde are World Vision Canada's magazines for child sponsors. The 16-page, full-colour publications are mailed to nearly 85,000 individuals who have sponsored a child for two years or less. The publications—which are mailed out four times a year (Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall)—use compelling photography and stories to show our readers how they are making a difference in the lives of children and their families in developing countries, and motivate sponsors to further engage with the organization. Those individuals who have sponsored with WVC for more than two years (300,000 sponsors) receive quarterly email notifications of new content on the magazines' websites (http://childview.worldvision.ca/ and http://www.enfantsdumonde.ca/). The websites, which were launched in Spring 2011, allow us to share magazine content more cost effectively with our sponsors and they feature extra digital content such as photo galleries and videos. |

In 2010-2011 World Vision’s six Youth Ambassadors engaged 25,000 youth via 132 events and were covered 31 times by the media. Since 2006 the YA program has selected high caliber Canadian youth leaders and brought them to East Africa to learn first hand about development and participate in a Youth Forum with young leaders from Rwanda, Tanzania and the Congo (DRC). Youth from each country engage their peers and take innovative social action. The Youth Ambassador program has been recognized for its results by CIDA and the Canadian Awards for International Cooperation. Each year Youth Ambassadors receive numerous awards, including recently as one of Chatelaine Magazine's 2011 Women of the Year. While traveling on a Tony Campolo tour in 2004, two women, a speaker and a worship leader, challenged World Vision Canada to build a series of events under the banner of fun, faith and fellowship called Girls Night Out. GNO was launched and Canadian women responded in the thousands and our National Partner FaithLife Financial joined the event. The past five years have seen Girls Night Out tours across Canada with 160 events in 90 communities spanning eight provinces. Visit http://www.gnolive.ca/ for more information on Girls Night Out. |
