Welcome to The House In east end of Vancouver sits a rather unassuming home that takes in youth in crisis. It is known to kids in the area as "The House." Run by friends Carla Dickinson and Jenny Shantz, The House occupies an unusual niche within Vancouver’s stretched social services system. The majority of the kids who live in the home have parents with drug or alcohol problems. Few have experienced love or acceptance, whether living with their families, or in group homes. Shantz and Dickinson try to fill this gap.
