Thank you for your generous gift to help provide life-saving care and relief to survivors of Myanmar’s Cyclone Nargis. Your gift is like a small miracle for families who were devastated by the loss of their homes, belongings and even loved ones. You’re helping to provide them with things like: - Emergency food and survival kits
- Water purifiers and mosquito nets
- Tarps and shelters
- Child-Friendly Spaces
- Medicine and more
But perhaps most importantly, you’re providing comfort and care for children like eight-year-old Ei, who lost her mother in Myanmar’s monstrous storm. After the cyclone passed, Ei remembered nothing. But she acted strangely and ran away often. Then she became very sick. In the hospital, she’d awaken shouting, “Mommy, mommy! Come back to me.” The trauma of her loss was profound. At one of World Vision’s 81 Child-Friendly Spaces, Ei received psychosocial support, and played games with other children. As her memories slowly returned, she began to heal. Today she says, “I love playing, but also reading. I want to be a big teacher.” Thank you for helping give hope to children like Ei, whose lives were shattered by Cyclone Nargis. |

In the early days after the cyclone Nargis hit Myanmar, families received the water purification satchets PUR to get clean water.
Child friendly spaces provide a safe, monitored area for the children of Myanmar to play, enjoy snacks, and receive ongoing psychosocial support.
In partnership with the World Food Programme, World Vision has distributed over 2,300 metric tonnes of emergency food aid and monthly food packages to 350,000 people. |
