The 20-year civil war in Northern Uganda has traumatized the country's population. Children live in fear of being abducted by the rebel army and forced to fight. As many as 80 per cent of the Lord's Resistance Army's (LRA) forces are children. Girls and boys who disobey orders are beaten, raped, or killed.
World Vision's Children of War Rehabilitation Centre helps former captive children reintegrate into their communities. Catherine, 14, and Paul, 13, (not their real names) were helped at this centre and shared their stories.
