World Vision Canada’s President Appointed to Order of Ontario
He is recognized internationally as a champion of children living in poverty. Now, World Vision Canada’s President and CEO, Dave Toycen, has been honoured at home.
On January 27, 2011 Toycen was among those who received the Order of Ontario at a ceremony at Queen’s Park. The award—Ontario’s highest honour—recognizes his contribution as a humanitarian leader working on behalf of children, families and communities in developing countries.
“It’s truly an honour to receive the Order of Ontario. This award is a strong affirmation of World Vision’s 60 years of service to children, families and communities living in poverty. I share the award with our supporters, who bring hope and healing to millions of children across the globe. It’s my pledge to continue to give these children a voice,” said Toycen.
The Order of Ontario is bestowed on individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to society and around the world in any field. Candidates are nominated by members of the general public.
