World Vision Canada Named One of Canada’s Top 100 Employers

World Vision Canada is celebrating its selection as one of the best employers in the country. On October 15, the organization was named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers.

As Canada’s largest relief, development and advocacy organization supported by more than 600,000 Canadians, this is a reflection of our commitment to excellence. In fact, World Vision Canada is the only non-governmental organization joining the ranks of many well-known companies on the list.

Effectiveness and efficiency is a top priority and we understand this is dependent on the general health and satisfaction of our employees. World Vision’s core values include one centered on the importance of our people.

Striving For Excellence In All We Do
“As a charity we are accountable to our donors, and this achievement is a reflection of our organizational commitment to strive for excellence in all that we do,” says Michael Messenger, World Vision Canada’s executive vice president.

Also, as a child-focused organization, it is important for us to reflect our value and commitment for families here in Canada as much as we do for those around the world.

By creating a positive work atmosphere that encourages better performance and skills development we can unite together to improve the well-being of children involved in and touched by our programs.

“By being a great place to work, we can attract and retain top-notch employees who in turn have great influence in improving the lives of children and communities we serve,” says Charlie Guy, World Vision Canada’s vice president of People and Culture.

The Selection Process
The Canada's Top 100 Employers project is a national competition to determine which employers offer exceptional workplaces for their employees.

Judging was based on:

  • Physical Workplace
  • Work Atmosphere & Social
  • Health, Financial & Family Benefits
  • Vacation & Time Off
  • Employee Communications
  • Performance Management
  • Training & Skills Development
  • Community Involvement

Mediacorp examined more than 75,000 employers across Canada. More than 2,600 employers started this year's application process.
