The G8 Summit
Leaders from these countries meet annually to discuss important economic and political issues. Here are the details of this year's Summit:
When: July 6-8, 2005
Where: Gleneagles, Scotland
Issues: The G8 presidency changes every year. This year, the U.K. holds the presidency and sets the agenda. U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair wants to focus on Africa, including poverty and HIV/AIDS, and climate change.

What World Vision Wants
World Vision wants G8 leaders to take decisive action on Making Poverty History through:
- more and better aid
- debt cancellation
- trade justice
- more resources to continue the fight against HIV/AIDS
World Vision also wants G8 leaders to ensure that progress continues towards providing education for all children.
What You Can Do
Sign a giant postcard asking our Prime Minister to set a timetable for giving 0.7 per cent of Canada's gross national income to foreign aid and call on him to be a leader in fair trade and debt cancellation.
