Working in the field of International Development is very rewarding. You're given the opportunities to tackle big challenges in the world. International development workers also interact with interesting people, learn about other cultures and languages, and travel "off the beaten path".

The job poses many challenges, though. Many who work in this area put in long hours for less pay than they would receive if they worked for a private company.
