Bangladeshi mother Mosammat and her three children are thriving thanks to the gift of fruit trees from World Vision’s Gift Catalogue.
As a mother concerned about her children’s health, Mosammat is deeply grateful to have another source of food as well as extra income from fruit sales. She received six guava, 20 mango, three plum and four lychee trees from Canadian gift givers.
The fruit has been especially helpful in nursing Mosammat’s malnourished child, Raju, back to health. Mosammat learned to maximize the fruit trees’ potential by enrolling in a World Vision nutrition-training program known as Hearth, where she practised preparing nutritious meals from locally available foods. She also learned about proper hygiene and preventative health-care practices.
Like Mosammat and her children, the lives of other families all over the world are being transformed thanks to the generosity of Canadian gift givers.
