Imagine Canada is a national registered charity that raises the profile of the non-profit sector. As an umbrella organization with about 1,300 members, it conducts research, shapes public policy, and encourages collaboration of charities with businesses, government and individuals.

This year Imagine Canada has launched a new Ethical Code Program, which sets a framework for best practices in fundraising. Officially called “The Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability Code”, it is designed to ensure that fundraisers and charities are keeping donors’ interests top of mind.

As an active member of Imagine Canada, World Vision fully endorses the newly revised Ethical Code.
We are committed to transparency and good stewardship, particularly when it comes to fundraising, administration and, most importantly, how we help children. The Ethical Code is an important measure that helps build Canadians’ trust in charities.

We are currently in the application process to become a participant in Imagine Canada’s newly revised Ethical Code. As one of Canada’s largest charities, we fundraise in many different ways, all of which must undergo a comprehensive review. Such a detailed process takes time, especially considering that the Ethical Code presents a new, stronger framework for fundraising best practices. We have taken the initiative to put every aspect of our fundraising programs under the Code’s magnifying glass. Together with Imagine Canada, we are reviewing these programs to confirm that we meet the highest standards of compliance.
