Celebrities Supporting World Vision
One of the goals at World Vision Canada is to encourage the Canadian public to join in the work of combating poverty and improving the lives of children and their families around the world. Due to their enormous influence with a wide variety of audiences, partnering with various celebrities is one of the most effective ways for World Vision to accomplish this goal.
Dozens of Canadian celebrities who are passionate about helping the poor have offered their time, resources and voices. Below are just a few of the talented individuals who partner with World Vision.

Jann Arden
With nine albums to her credit, Arden is a chart-topping Canadian star widely known for her pop music, passionate lyrics and wry sense of humour. In all, Arden has sold more than two million albums worldwide, been honoured with a star on Canada's Walk of Fame and won eight Juno awards. On her 2000 album Blood Cherry Red , the song "Another Human Being" was inspired by Arden's time in Africa with World Vision. She continues to be heavily involved with the organization through TV production and other international trips.
Tom Cochrane
This "Life is a Highway" hit maker is a Canadian Music Hall of Famer, winner of seven Juno awards and the voice featured on nine albums. For several years, Cochrane has worked closely with World Vision and has been a leading advocate for the needs of children. Cochrane has traveled internationally to witness World Vision's work in action and raised awareness of the organization in numerous interviews, articles and concerts.
Susan Hay
One of Global TV's most recognizable personalities, Hay's weather reports are watched by thousands daily. The perennial host of the Toronto Santa Claus Parade TV broadcast and a charity activist, Hay has dedicated herself to connecting with the community and profiling worthy causes. As a 20-year TV reporter, Hay has joined World Vision on several trips and reported on child poverty, HIV and AIDS and health care.
Alex Trebek
As an Emmy Award-winning television game show host, Alex Trebek is best known as the host of the game show Jeopardy! Born a Canadian, Trebek first traveled with World Vision Canada in 2002 to Uganda. Since then he has been regularly involved with World Vision and is often seen on the organization's television shows.
Rick Campanelli
One of Canada's most popular TV personalities, Campanelli is best known as "Rick the Temp", a former MuchMusic video jockey who now is seen nightly as a host reporter for ET Canada. In 2000, Campanelli traveled to Tanzania as a part of the 30 Hour Famine team. In 2006, he joined a World Vision team that traveled to Rwanda reporting on a visit by Tom Cochrane for ET Canada.
Cassie Campbell
For nearly a decade, Campbell led Canada's National Women's hockey team to a string of world championship titles and two Olympic gold medals. Since hanging up her skates in 2006, the former team captain has worked with CBC's Hockey Night in Canada and became the first woman to do live commentary for the show. Recently, Campbell traveled to El Salvador with World Vision and has been involved in the 30 Hour Famine.
Mike "Pinball" Clemons
One of football's most electrifying players, Toronto Argonauts running back Clemons holds the title of the CFL's all-time all-purpose yardage leader. Now the head coach of the Argonauts, as well as a captivating and highly sought-after speaker, Clemons traveled to Uganda in 2006 with World Vision.
