World Vision Responds to CIDA donation match

"World Vision is pleased that the generous response of individual Canadians to the Southeast Asian emergency has moved the Canadian Government to match donations raised by January 11, dollar-for-dollar. We have not seen this scale of giving since the Ethiopian famine exactly 20 years ago.

We expect that our organization's commitment will require tens of millions of dollars over the coming months and this money will go a long way to help the people of Southeast Asia," said Dirk Booy, vice president International and Canadian programs World Vision Canada.
