The incredible need created by the earthquake in South Asia has prompted the Canadian government to match individual donations raised by October 25, dollar-for-dollar. In response, World Vision has increased its appeal for donations to $3 million. Immediate funding is needed to provide emergency items such as tents, water, food, blankets and medicines to affected children and their families. With the number of injured and homeless climbing hourly, we expect that our organization's commitment will require millions of dollars over the coming months and this money will be used to help ease the suffering of the people of South Asia.
