Pam Sitko is a Canadian, and a Relief Communicator with World Vision. When disaster strikes, Pam is among the first on the scene, meeting children and families whose lives have been changed forever. She then shares their stories with the world.
On May 2, Cyclone Nargis slammed into Myanmar’s Delta region, killing an estimated 138,000 people. Pam worked night and day from the World Vision office in Bangkok, letting the world know what was happening in Myanmar.
Journalists flooded into Bangkok, joining Pam in the wait for visas to enter Myanmar. She provided countless interviews during this time. On May 12, Pam was reassigned to cover the Sichuan earthquake in China.
This March, Pam finally got a chance to visit Myanmar, to meet the children and families she’d worked so hard to bring to the world’s attention.
