Welcome to the online press kit for the World Vision 30 Hour Famine. Whether your audience is interested in a local angle or a global one, check here for everything from background information to downloadable video and photographs.

Never has the World Vision 30 Hour Famine been more relevant than now, in the midst of a global food catastrophe like the world has never seen. Rising food prices have left children hungrier than ever. Kids who used to eat once a day, now eat once every other day.

The Famine offers young Canadians a chance to engage with one of the greatest challenges facing the world today, while raising funds to help kids who are battling poverty. Canadian youth experience hunger firsthand, as they go 30 hours without eating. They learn about issues of poverty and hunger from guest speakers and other events.

Famine participants have told us the experience has changed their outlook; many go on to do future work helping the poor. World Vision is challenging this year’s participants to “Make it Personal” as they look for ways to engage with the world’s neediest people.
