The World Vision 30 Hour Famine
It’s time to make it personal
100,000 young Canadians are rising to the challenge presented by the global food crisis Young people across Canada are making the World Vision 30 Hour Famine personal and creating their own recipe for change. These teens are inspired to take action against hunger, poverty and injustice.
Youth are motivating friends, families and communities to join them. They’re supporting a global movement to help millions of children and families – people already struggling to meet the basic necessities of life.
It’s estimated that 35 million children could be pushed deeper into poverty as a result of the global food crisis.
By doing the World Vision 30 Hour Famine and raising funds, Canadian teens are making a real difference in a world where millions of children die of hunger each year. Participants go without food for 30 hours, so they can experience what hunger feels like firsthand.
“With thousands of teens getting involved in the Famine, it goes to show that when youth are inspired or touched by a cause we can make positive changes,” says Connor Scheu, World Vision Youth Ambassador. “Millions of people are counting on our voices to bring awareness to the fight against global poverty.”
