Gift Item Cost Use Overseas
Textbooks $30 Provide a teacher with a set of textbooks needed to teach a class for an entire year.
Toys $30 Provide toys to children in communities where World Vision works. The toys will be bought in local markets. In some areas, educational toys for learning-disadvantaged children may also be included.
Adopt a Pasture $50 This "green gift" helps farm communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America to cope with the effects of climate change by protecting trees, promoting soil and water conservation, and restoring degraded ecosystems so pastures and fields remain productive.
Nutrition for a child kits $60 for nutrition for two months; $120 for a full nutrition kit Provide the tools to treat severely malnourished children under age five. Each kit includes a food supplement to help children quickly recover. The complete kit also includes medications and soap.
School desk and chairs $75 For some children in rural schools around the world, the chair is often a dirt floor and the desk is their lap. Your gift provides desks and chairs for a classroom.
School lunches for 50 children $75 Many children go to school hungry every day. Your gift will feed 50 children in a rural school for a month, serving as an added incentive to attend class.
Bicycle and repair kit (online only) $100 Bicycles enable health-care and community-development workers to reach impoverished children and families living in rural areas.
Alpaca $350 This South American animal has the world's highest-valued wool, which can be woven into essential clothing, blankets and rugs for sale at market. One alpaca can produce up to 12 pounds of wool annually over the course of a 15- to 20-year lifespan.
Computers (business kit Gift Catalogue version) $600 for a computer and training; $7,000 for a Computer Learning Centre Help give communities throughout the world and people in World Vision projects the tools and equipment they need to learn valuable computer skills. Also includes setup, training and software.
