Animal Positioning Statement
World Vision is concerned about animal husbandry and takes steps to ensure that good practice is followed at all times within the local recipient communities.
- Appropriate animals for the relevant environment are purchased locally and are not transported from overseas.
- Recipients must first attend training in animal care/husbandry (health, nutrition).
- Recipients must provide appropriate shelter for the animals/livestock.
- All veterinary fees for vaccinations are covered by World Vision if they are not available in the community.
- Each animal undergoes a veterinary examination before delivery.
