Photography Book Helps Fight HIV & AIDS

Famed entertainment photographer and video director Andrew MacNaughtan's latest endeavour is a unique art book that showcases the beauty of Africa and the work of World Vision through stunning black and white photographs. "GRACE: Africa in Photographs" will be exhibited at Arta Gallery from November 15 – 20, 2011 at the world class Arta Gallery in Toronto's Distillery District.

Through ArtGivesHope, a charity founded by MacNaughtan in 2006, the sales of the limited edition images and books will support World Vision Canada's 'Where Most Needed' fund—to help the world's neediest children by mobilizing personnel, resources and emergency supplies where most needed, and when most needed. MacNaughtan's goal is to generate enough awareness and funds to sponsor 500 children in need.

In 2010, MacNaughtan travelled to Tanzania and Kenya to capturing the spirit and beauty of landscapes, wildlife and people, to raise funds for children in HIV/AIDS-affected regions. While in Africa, MacNaughtan met his own World Vision-sponsored child, Baraka, who is now thriving and has a bright future because of the 'grace' extended to empower a child in need.

The four–time JUNO award winner also enlisted the help of friends in the recording industry to lend poetic voice to the images in his book. More than 30 artists, including Celine Dion, Michael Bublé, Bryan Adams, Annie Lennox, Hedley, Nikki Yanofsky and Tom Cochrane graciously provided commentary to photos that inspired them.
