The Call Canada is one of the world's wealthiest countries. A member of the G8, Canada enjoys a bounty of natural resources, a strong currency, a high GDP and a high standard of living. Our inflation is low, as is our "infant mortality rate"—an economic indicator most Canadians don't even have to think about.
Outside Canada's doors, almost a billion of the world's people live on less than $1 a day. Economies struggling to their knees can be knocked flat again by factors such as drought. Combined with other socio-economic factors, the results can be deadly: in Niger, one child in seven will die before reaching her first birthday.
Canada has a lot to share.
